Trelawnyd is a small rural village situated 5 miles inland from Rhyl and Prestatyn on the main London Road to Chester.
The village of Trelawnyd is recorded in Domesday Book in 1086. The look out from the pre-historic burial mound at Gop Hill, which stands high above the village is the second largest pre-historic mound in Britain. Trelawnyd Male Voice Choir is one of the largest male voice choirs in North Wales with around 100 members and is noted for its varied repertoire.

The village has a popular junior school, village store and petrol station. Properties vary from Welsh long cottages to more modern bungalows, semi-detached houses and large detached executive properties. Chester is roughly a 30minute drive.
