Who are we?
Thomas Estates are a local family business completely independent from any financial or corporate company. We are able to provide a personal service without any restrictions from corporate managers and shareholders. We are not restricted by boundaries, red tape and can cater for individual needs. We listen to what our customers have to say and have provided a high standard of service for many years.
Ombudsman for Estate Agents
We are members of the Ombudsman for Estates Agents Scheme and subscribe to the Ombudsman for Estate Agents Code of Practice. This Code of Practice has achieved the approval of the Office of Fair Trading under its Consumer Codes and Approval Scheme – and in 2007 is the only such code for estate agents to have done so.

We provide vendors wishing to sell a free no obligation market appraisal of properties. We will be delighted to arrange a convenient time to visit you to offer practical and professional marketing advice. We will give you our opinion of the market and where you stand. We always recommend a marketing valuation based on facts, as required by the Ombudsman for Estates Agents Code of Practice. Sometimes we tell people what they don’t want to hear, but isn’t it best to be honest?
Should you want to instruct us to sell your property, you will find our fee very competitive and for residential properties we offer NO SALE – NO FEE PAYABLE and are one of the few agents who do not have a contract with tied-in restriction clause. We also provide a Probate Valuation service. A fee is charged for written reports but is fully credited, if we are later instructed to market and sell the property.
Looking for a Property to Buy?
Register on our mailing list for details of new properties being marketed. You can use the “Mail Registration” link to e-mail your details. It will ask you for your contact details and property requirements. If circumstances are that you do not want to receive property details by e-mail, do not type your e-mail address in the box. By entering your mobile number and/or e-mail address you should receive notification of new properties as they come onto the market before the postman delivers.
Survey Required?
We are able to provide via independent chartered surveyor Home Condition Reports also known as “Homebuyers” and “Full Building Surveys” for individuals buying or selling. We can also arrange specialist damp and timber survey reports, roofing reports, electrical reports, plumbing reports and gas installation reports. An essential service when they are required by mortgage lenders as condition of a mortgage offer.
Conveyancing?
We can advise you of local independent solicitors. We maintain a good rapport and keep in regular contact with them, checking the progress of the property sale, including those in the chain. Chains can breakdown because of poor communication and if the wrong action is taken. If anything untoward should happen we could be in a position to act quickly and will always help with seeing the sale go through to a satisfactory completion.
Landlord Services
If you are a private landlord and supervise your own tenants, we do provide a referencing and marketing service for tenants at a competitive fee.
